Par défaut Uninstall WSUS 3.0 SP1

Hi

We are running W2K3 SP2 Domain controller with WSUS 3.0 SP1 installed. We
would like to perform a clean uninstall of WSUS. Is it just a case of
uninstalling through Add/Remove Programs? Will this uninstall the repository
where the updates are stored locally? Does it remove appropriate entries in
IIS? Remove MS SQL Server 2005 Embedded edition which was installed during
the installation of WSUS?. I'm struggling to find documentation on the WSUS
uninstall process and would like a clean uninstall to be carried out. Your
comments would be appreciated.

Hi,

Thank you for your post.

My name is Eric Zhang, and it is my pleasure to work with you on this
issue!

Please allow me to confirm that my understandings are correct. As I
understand it, the issue is:

You need to perform a clean un-installation of WSUS 3.0 SP1

If I have misunderstood your concerns please feel free to let me know.

Suggestion:
================================================== ==

You can uninstall WSUS 3.0 SP1 through "Add/Remove Programs" and choose to
delete all the items include:

WSUS 3.0 SP1 database
Log files
Downloaded update files.

If you cannot uninstall WSUS 3.0 SP1 through "Add/Remove Programs", please
try the following steps to manually remove it:

1. Download the SDK to obtain MSIZAP
http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...8-80e8-983a48d
5e1bd/msicuu2.exe

2. From a command prompt, type:
MSIZAP T {2C0D7E35-EE6E-4DC7-BA13-2C68AEDEB59D}

3. From a command prompt, type: sc delete wsusservice

4. Again, From a command prompt, type:
MSIZAP T {2C0D7E35-EE6E-4DC7-BA13-2C68AEDEB59D}

5. From a command prompt, type: iisreset
The MSIZAP switch "T" removes all info for given product code

6. Run the following command to delete Windows Internal Database:

msiexec /x {CEB5780F-1A70-44A9-850F-DE6C4F6AA8FB} callerid=ocsetup.exe

7. Delete WSUS folder C:\Program Files\Update Services

8. Open IIS manager, delete all WSUS related virtual directory:

ApiRemoting30
ClientWebService
Content
DssAuthWebService
Inventory
ReportingWebService
Selfupdate
ServerSyncWebService
SimpleAuthWebService
