1. If I install Vista on it, is there difference from installing Vista on
Virtual PC 2007 ? 2. I setup several servers on it as a TEST system. I need to access diferent servers back and forth. Every time, I press right-Alt to get out, click on the server I need to access and logon. Is there a way to remote loging on process? I tried to use blank password on host machine but did not work. BTW. the host machine is standalone (not in the domain). |

1. There are a number of differences, not limited to sound card emulation
(or not), SCSI support (or not), number of CD-ROM drives, differences in how you interact between the host and the guest (shared folders,copy-and-paste, etc)...the list goes on and on. More info here: Virtual PC vs. Virtual Server: Comparison of Features and Uses - WHITEPAPER (VPC 2004 vs VS 2005) http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en Here's a great post with a little more detail from last year by Jeff Woolsey on the Virtualization team: http://blogs.technet.com/virtualizat...irtual-pc.aspx 2. I'm not sure I understood this question, but have a look at SCVMM for managing your guests... http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/scvmm/bb679927.aspx The "right-Alt to get out" sounds like you haven't installed the virtual machine additions in your guest OSes. http://www.microsoft.com/technet/pro....mspx?mfr=true Hope this s, --Ryan Ryan Sokolowski MVP - Windows Server - Clustering MCSE, CCNA, CCDA, BCFP "Ian" <Ian@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:E2ADD582-A821-477E-A50E-BA1CAA74AAC2@microsoft.com... > 1. Ryan,
I followed steps in the link of "Install Virtual Machine Additions" and did not see The Virtual Machine Additions installation wizard started after Step 9: Click in the Remote Control window to return to the guest operating system. Any suggestion? Sorry about typo in last post. I meant "Is there a way to REMOVE loging on process?" (no logon to switch between servers) "Ryan Sokolowski [MVP]" wrote: > 1. (no logon to switch between servers) Hey Ian, I can recommend using this tool here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en It will make your life easier regarding management of VS 2005 at least. |
