Par défaut Can Virtual Server coexist with VMWare Server?

I know this may sound silly...

I have a development server running VMWare Server 1.0.4, with a few virtual
machines on it. The server has 16GB of RAM and lots of disk space.

I have a .vhd that I need to boot from. Could I install MS Virtual Server
on the same system as VMWare Server and boot from the .vhd? Will VMWare
Server and Virtual Server coexist on the same system?

Not silly at all...from what I understand, you can have both INSTALLED on
the same system, but there may be issues with RUNNING both at the same time.
If you have issues with installing Virtual Server, you might also want to
try Virtual PC (since your need seems to be temporary).

....OR.... just install Virtual Server and convert all your VMWare images
over to .VHD format! :-)

Hope this s,

Thanks - I did mean "running" both at the same time, seeing if anyone has
tried this before.

At some point we may convert the VMWare instances to Virtual Server, but I
just need to deal with this one .vhd now, and I do need to run it without
bringing down VMWare, ideally on that server.

Running both at the same time blue screens my machine. I understand that it
does not do that on all machines so YMMV.

I have, but I disable hardware virtualization in one product or the
other if I intend to run them at the same time. No problems using
this scenario.

The key is to turn off hardware virtualization completely. If you do that,
it should be OK. (Easiest way is to disable it in the BIOS, and then neither
virtualization solution will even try to use it, thus no blue screen.)
