I've been using virtual server for a while now, with much success in general,
but recently have stumbled upon an odd quirk. I recently virtualized one of my Server 2003 machines onto my Virtual Server 2005 R2 SP1 machine to get some better performance on the server. After virtualizing, I can no longer access the web hosting on that box, except from within the guest VM itself. The outside network is configured simply as pass through to external, other incoming connections are successful on different services, and outside connections from the VM work just fine. Any suggestions of where to look for problems that could cause this? |

The first thing I'd check is site permissions. Also test your basic network
level connectivity...ping the IP from outside, try telnet to Port 80, etc... -- Ryan Sokolowski MVP - Windows Server - Clustering MCSE, CCNA, CCDA, BCFP "Plato2876" <Plato2876@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:56D2C110-D53D-405B-9B99-267A04D69857@microsoft.com... > I've been using virtual server for a while now, with much success in > general, > but recently have stumbled upon an odd quirk. Thanks for the , I figured it out. Apparently, the firewall on the new
virtualized adapter turned on by default, which was blocking port 80 traffic, but allowing the other things I was testing, which caused the nice headache. Modified things and everything works now. Thanks for the quick . "Ryan Sokolowski [MVP]" wrote: > The first thing I'd check is site permissions.
