I tried with US layout and it is no difference.
I give installation a time but after 48 hours it was still at 54%.

When I tried first uppdate and later add Hyper-V role than it is working
but not the other way.

Did Microsoft know about the problem?

Yes you are right. Hyper-V Beta was working perfectly.

No I installed Windows 2008 almost two weeks before Microsoft released
RC0 and for this to weeks I did not had any problems and tested a lot of
things.
I had English locale but only keyboard layout swedish one.

It's not universal, I added the role and the did the update with no
problem at all...

I suspect it's some localization problem...
