Ok, VS 2005 use 1 CPU/VM, OK, as a previous discussion Win2008 + Hypervisor will be different? Example: 2 VMs on a quad-core PC VM1 uses a lot of CPU and VM2 uses no CPU, idle at most times When VM1 begins ti use a lot of CPU, in Win2008+HV it will balance amog the CPUs? |

A VM will only use 1 core on your quad-core, unless you assign two cores to it. You can have a VM with multiple CPUs in Hyper-V. If you set your VM up with a core, that's all you're getting access to. You can set up a VM as a dual-cpu/core system and this will allow your VM to use 2 cpu/cores. -- Cheers, Steve Jain, Virtual Machine MVP http://vpc.essjae.com/ I do not work for Microsoft. |
