I hope someone can me out. I am trying to install Win2K3 on a VM I
created, but it seems that the VM doesn't see the CD/DVD drive in the computer. I keep getting the message (black screen/white letters) that says - "Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device" Here is what I have tried so far: - Captured Physical CD/DVD drive - Created an ISO image of the CD and placed that in the same folder as the VMC file, changed the capture to point to this location - I've checked the BIOS by pressing the DELETE when the VM starts and made sure that the CD/DVD drive is the first in the boot sequence - Deleted / reconfigured the VM - no change - Uninstalled/reinstalled Virtual Server - No change I have installed Virtual Server many times on other hardware without a problem, but with this computer I cannot seem to get the guest OS install on the VM. Any would be appreciated! thanks! |

In Virtual Server Administration - create a new virtual machine. - select configure virtual machine. - add two virtual DVD drives. - configure the virtual DVD drives so they read their respective iso image (i installed enterprise so i need to DVDs) (note the iso images may need to be made bootable!) There are weblinks that will you ensure you have a bootable iso image. - control the virtual machine and reset it. When the bios comes up configure it to boot off the correct DVD. That should do it. Tony Good luck. |
