Run away from VSMT....haven't heard that name in years!
For MSVS p2v's, check out Leostream, Platespin, or SCVMM. Personally I prefer Leostream, but either would work fine. The two third party companies will allow you to perform test conversions prior to purchase. You should take a look at Acronis Universal Restore. You backup a real
machine with Acronis and then use that image to create a virtual hdd. It creates for Virtual PC, but you can use the documented method to convert that to a virtual SCSI. (mentioned in another post here.) (Right now, you cannot covert a real machine that uses an ATA controller but they are working on a fix.) The product is Acronis Echo Workstation 11 and that with Universal Restore is a VERY inexpensive package.
