Hmmm. Good question. I haven't tried it yet, but I think it should. That
being said, however, you would need to follow the instructions for
installing without the administrative web site, but do your management from
a remote machine. I'm pretty sure the admin site would be a problem.

But if you've got Win2k8, why not run Hyper-V instead?

Is it possible to run a GUI installer on W2008_core?
I thought that the core version does not come with a GUI interface...
But I have not tried it myself.

Some will, some won't. Depends on what their requirements and pre-reqs are.
..MSI's should install using the /q switch (/quiet).

You don't need the "/q" switch for the installation. The GUI will be shown
normally. It's only the server itself which has no GUI.

Yes, Virtual Server WORKS on top of Windows Server 2008 Core. You need to
make an silent unattend installation without the Web component.
