The issue is that i had installed the sql server 2005 without sql server
2005 development studio, and then installed sp2. After that I want to install sql server 2005 development studio, but I cant find out how to do that? Whenever I insert the original setup dvd it says the installed version is higher and this disc cannot be used... Can someone please me how I can install sql server 2005 development studio ?? |

Try going to Add/Remove programs, select SQL Server and click change. You should be prompted to add/remove components. Select the workstation components. Once completed - you then need to re-run the SP2 upgrade to upgrade the client components. |

What exactly did you uninstall? You should have selected change in Add/Remove - and added the workstation components. Once added, you then run the SP2 upgrade and will identify the workstation components as needing to be upgraded. SQL Server Management Studio will be in the program group for SQL Server. You should also see SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio (this is used for SSIS, Reports, etc...). What version of SQL Server did you install? SQL Server 2005 Express does not come with the management studio. If that is the version you installed - then you will need to download SSMSE from Microsoft. |

Hi James,
In SQL Server 2005 Setup, ensure that you click the "Advanced..." button in the Components to Install window and then ensure you select "Business Intelligence Management Studio" under the Client Tools node. -- Ekrem Önsoy "James" <James@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:eMZ8E05sIHA.5872@TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... > Jeffrey Williams wrote: >> James wrote: >>> The issue is that i had installed the sql server 2005 without sql server >>> 2005 development studio, and then installed sp2.
