Hallo,
I've tried to uninstall SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition from my System (Windows XP Prof. SP3). The following reinstall failed, because some components of a higher version (SP 2 of SQL Server) aren't deinstalled. Now the installer tells me, that I first have to uninstall these components (e.g. reporting services, workstation tools), before I can install SQL Server 2005. But the big problem is, that I can't uninstall these components, because the (un)installer raises errors like: can't find XY). How can I manually uninstall the complete SQL Server, so that I'm able to make a clean reinstall? PS: The article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/909967 doesn't succeed. Regards Stephan |

Oh dude, you have to crawl through the registry and manually delete anything
related to SQL. It's rough and it takes a long time, but I had to do it myself a couple months ago. -- Read my book reviews at: www.ITBookworm.com Blog Author of: Database Underground -- http://weblog.infoworld.com/dbunderground/ DBA Rant – http://dbarant.blogspot.com "Stephan Schneider" wrote: > Hallo, > > I've tried to uninstall SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition from my System > (Windows XP Prof. SP3). > The following reinstall failed, because some components of a higher version > (SP 2 of SQL Server) aren't deinstalled.
