I'm a bit confused. When I look at the system requirements for SQL Server
2005, WS 2008 is never mentioned (or maybe my tired eyes just missed it).
Will SQL Server 2005 install and run properly on a WS 2008 box? TIA

It's not mentioned that SQL Server 2005 runs on Windows Server 2008 or not
because the document you see must be out-dated. As you know Windows Server
2008 is a new product.

I suggest you to take a look at the Update Date of that document. It must be
older than Windows Server 2008' s release date.

Windows Server 2008 is a new product and must be aware of SQL Server 2005. I
believe you'll not have any problem with SQL Server 2005 on Windows Server
2008.
