Thursday Eve Vista Business SQL 2005 enterprise edition installed, more info at bottom of message. I am attempting to install/setup BVsoftware's estore demo. I get an error: SQL 2005 could not be found on this computer. I have a CMS application running fine, accessing SQL without a problem. And, of course, SQL mgmt studio opens fine, and works correctly. I wonder, is this another example of the wonderful world of "User Access Control?" Guidance please. Hi,
As you can not install SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition on Windows Vista and Windows XP, this must be your problem. Try using Express or Standard Edition according to your needs. Here are the features of SQL Server Editions: http://www.microsoft.com/sql/prodinf...-features.mspx And here's the system requirements of SQL Server Enterprise Edition: http://www.microsoft.com/sql/edition...e/sysreqs.mspx -- Ekrem Önsoy "J" <Jnospam@nowhere.com> wrote in message news:eIJ1SJ$qIHA.1436@TK2MSFTNGP05.phx.gbl... > > Thursday Eve > > Vista Business > > SQL 2005 enterprise edition installed, more info at bottom of message. > > I am attempting to install/setup BVsoftware's estore demo. Thank you for your response and clarity. "Tis true it is SQL standard. We have just installed Office 2008 Enterprise. Too many bits to process. However: >> I have a CMS application running fine, accessing SQL without a problem. >> And, of course, SQL mgmt studio opens fine, and works correctly. So, the question remains as to why this new application cannot find SQL.
