Is there a tool (in SQL Server or a 3rd party) that will allow the craving up
of hardware resources (CPUs, Memory, etc.) on a instance by instance basis? |

SQL 2005 already allows for some setting of that thru CPU affinity and
Memory settings. But Windows 2003 has WSRM that can allow you to set some restrictions and limits etc. on an app by app basis. Each instance of SQL Server is a separate app. But with SQL 2008 there is a built in resource governor as well. It really all depends on your goals as to how to approach it. -- Andrew J.
