Hello:
In SQL 2005, after creating two separate backup plans (one for each separate backup drive), is it possible to have SQL automatically backup the databases to one plan or the other--depending on which one of the two backup drives is online? An IT person says that she has two backup drives, F and G. Sometimes F goes offline and G stays online or vice versa. But, no matter what, one drive is online while the other goes offline. I suppose that she could simply create the two separate plans and, depending on whether one drive or the other is online, SQL will just backup to that online drive. So, there would be no other special setup or configuration necessary. Is that correct? Thanks! childofthe1980s |

Any rationale why the two drives would take turn to go offline? I'd much
prefer not have to deal with this online/offline business if I'm making backups. I'm trying to figure out whether a wrong problem is being attempted.
