I have Pentium 4 2.8 GHz, 2 GB RAM, XP SP2. I did not have SQL Server
previously installed. I installed Visual Studio 2005. Then I ran the SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition disk from the VS 2005 package. Now when I go into Setup, it tells me that Installed Instances = Analysis Services, Reporting Services, SQL Server, and SQL Server (SQLEXPRESS). The Start, Programs, Microsoft SQL Server 2005 menu only has 2 items: Configuration Tools, and SQL Server 2005 Upgrade Advisor. How do I access SQL Server 2005? How do I access SQL Query Analyzer? |

You look forgot selecting Management Tools in SQL Server Setup.
You should have selected Management Tools from Client tools when you were in Components to Install page. There is a button labeled "Advanced...". You would click on it and select the necessary components. I'll suggest visiting the following page to learn more about how to install these tools: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms144259.aspx -- Ekrem Önsoy http://www.ekremonsoy.net , http://ekremonsoy.blogspot.com MCBDA, MCTS: SQL Server 2005, MCITP BA, MCSD.Net, MCSE, MCT"my1stname" <my1stname@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:F253A003-116C-451D-BD6F-9A824804F4B0@microsoft.com... >I have Pentium 4 2.8 GHz, 2 GB RAM, XP SP2.
