I have MS SQL Server 2005 Standard. But its installation DVD can install
only 32 bit version. Does Microsoft has any way to upgrade to 64 bit version without buy another instance? I.e. download DVD image, or order DVD with 64 bit version? Or at least what is email on Microsoft where this question can be asked? Sincerely yours, Viatcheslav V. Vassiliev |

Downloadable versions are Evaluation Versions as far as I know, so you will
need to order media. You may have more information about this from the following link: http://www.microsoft.com/sql/howtobuy/default.mspx -- Ekrem Onsoy "Viatcheslav Valerievitch Vassiliev" <support@oledbdirect.com> wrote in message news:B5F3D8FB-919E-49E0-959E-892C96DCCFB2@microsoft.com... >I have MS SQL Server 2005 Standard. From the page you mentioned:
"While you should choose the platform that matches your current hardware (in order to obtain the appropriate media), SQL Server licenses are not platform specific. For example, if you currently have a 32-bit server and plan to upgrade the hardware to 64 bit in the future, you can purchase a 32-bit SKU today, and later switch to 64 bit without having to purchase an additional license". I have license for 32-bit server. But I can not find how can I "switch to 64 bit without having to purchase an additional license", where can I download/order media with 64bit server without paying for additional license (i.e. order with pay only for delivery). Such option is available from Windows Vista and I ordered Vista 64bit (having license for Vista 32bit) and paid only for delivery. Sincerely yours, Viatcheslav V.
