Par défaut Upgrading SQL Developer and "Enterprise manager" problems

Hi all

I have just spent days installing all the updates on Vista Ultimate 64,
Office 2007, and Visual Studio 2005.

All updates worked ok, until Visual Studio 2005. It has an SQL 2005
developers disk.

I installed this disk, and it all seemed ok, and I also installed several
updates - including SP2.

There remains one update however that just fails to download -
"Critical Update for SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2"

Its gets to about 1% download, and then reports a failure - is there some
kind of problem with the server this update is on ?
(every other Internet update and other work is ok on this computer)

Also - what do they call "enterprise manager" in the developers version ?
- I cant see where it has been installed, and I am not sure how I am
supposed to create tables etc.

All suggestions welcome

Ray

Oh - the upgrade is KB934458 - and the error messages vary, and are not
covered in the list

Does it fail to download or install? Enterprise manager has been replaced
with SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio) in SQL 2005.

Hi Andrew

It fails to download. It never gets past 2%, and the spurious error messages
give no clue why. I have no trouble with other downloads and updates.

Thanks for the info on SSmS. I wonder if that is supposed to come with the
Developer CD, or is it downloaded separately.
It doesnt appear on my program losty after installing developer

Cheers

Ray

Don't know why the download fails but SSMS is definitely included on the
developer CD. Make sure you choose to install the client tools to get it.

Hi Andrew

Yes, I must have missed the last option on the install - it now works fine -

Too bad about this update failure - still isnt working

Thanks
