I performed an in-place upgrade from SQL 2k to SQL2k5 last night.
Everything worked well, but I was a little surprised that the dbs were left in 8.0 compatibility mode. Is this on purpose, or did I miss a checkbox somewhere that would have upgraded the dbs to 9.0 compatibility mode? Thanks, Andre |

It is on purpose. It is easy to change compat level after the upgrade.

Thanks, just wanted to be sure. Yes, it's easy to change.

Same thing happens when you restore an SQL2000 backup to SQL2005.

Will the upgrade modify the script to change those "*=" to left outer
join?
