I am trying to install SP4 to an SQL 2000 Cluster (currently sp3a) running
on Windows 2003 (sp1). It fails with an error "Setup failed to perform
required operations on the cluster nodes" and I have tried everything in
every article I can find, but it still fails. Here is the log file, I don't

Next time, try posting this on the .clustering newsgroup. I almost missed
it in .programming

It looks like there may be a problem with the SQL Service or install account
accessing the SP4 source. I would copy the source files to a third server
and use a non administrative share name. This way, it looks the same to
both cluster nodes.

As usual, the Installer account must be a domain-level account and an admin
on both nodes. Personally, I like using the actual SQL Service account for
service pack and hotfix installs.

Make sure the task scheduler is running on both nodes and that you are not
logged in via RDP, except possibly to one node with the /console option.
