The easiest way to "force Sql Server Express to install on XP Pro SP1", is
to install Service Pack 2 on Windows XP, and then put in the SQL Server Express disk and follow the prompts. SQL Server 2005 requires Windows XP Pro SP2 -- Arnie Rowland, Ph.D. Westwood Consulting, Inc Most good judgment comes from experience.
