I have SQL Server 2000 at my XP SP2 box.
Can SQL Server 2005 (Express edition) be installed without affecting the existing SQL Server 2000? Thanks. |

This question has been asked dozens of time on the newsgroups. We always
say yes and I don't remember anybody saying it didn't work so I think you're safe. There are some issues with installing SQL 2000 after SQL 2005 but the order you're trying should be OK. -- This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. To add on to Roger; I have more than 10 servers running with SQL Server 2000
and SQL Server 2005 in parellel; but all are test servers. I will never suggest you to have both versions running in a production server. This is not because of functionality; but because of resource usage and service packs updation.
