Par défaut SQL Server 2005 co-exists with SQL Server 2000?

I have SQL Server 2000 at my XP SP2 box.

Can SQL Server 2005 (Express edition) be installed without affecting the
existing SQL Server 2000?

Thanks.

This question has been asked dozens of time on the newsgroups. We always
say yes and I don't remember anybody saying it didn't work so I think you're
safe. There are some issues with installing SQL 2000 after SQL 2005 but the
order you're trying should be OK.

To add on to Roger; I have more than 10 servers running with SQL Server 2000
and SQL Server 2005 in parellel; but all are test servers. I will never
suggest you
to have both versions running in a production server. This is not because of
functionality; but because of resource usage and service packs updation.

Thanks
Hari
