Hi:
I see in SQL Server 2005 Books Online the general information on how to upgrade SQL Server 2000 to 2005. But, aside from the requirements and all of the considerations, is the general idea of upgrading SQL to simply install 2005 on the server and just perform the upgrade? Does a window pop up when you click "Next" saying "Do you want to upgrade to 2005?" Does anyone have any URL's that you can share with me that discusses further information on upgrading? Thanks! childofthe1980s |

Often, a clean 'side-by-side' install is preferred. But that isn't possible,
there are many reports of 'uneventful' inplace upgrades. Using the Upgrade Advisor is advised.
