Hi
We have SQL Server 2005 trial software installed on our remote server and we have now purchased a fully licenced copy of the Standard edition. As the server is remote we cannot get access to it easily to insert the installation CD. Also we have a very slow upload speed here so we cannot just upload the installation files to the remote server (when we tried it said it would take several days to complete!) Therefore we are reluctant to uninstall the trial version as it is going to be difficult to install the licensed version. Is it possible for us to just enter a the serial number and upgrade the trial version to the licensed version? - this get round the full uninstall/install. Thanks in advance Bazza |

Hello all, Excuse me for bumping this thread but I have precisely the same problem as the original poster but can't find the answer anywhere. To recap: Have SQL Server 2005 Trial Edition installed at the data centre, not expired yet. Now have full licence disks in my possession but upstream bandwidth is very limited. Is it possible to convert the existing trial install into full version? Thanks, TH. |
