Hi,
I have a strange problem here: I'm trying to install sql server 2000 on my windows xp professional... I already installed it before (couple of months), but it was evaluation copy (and it expired, so I uninstalled it). Now, I'm trying to install developers edition sql server 2000, and when I start installation, nothing happens!?! Actually, I can see in task manager that 2 processes are there: sqlstp.exe and setupsql.exe. They both take some memory, but they don't get any CPU time... I tried to find sqlstp.log file on the disk, but there isn't any. Does anybody have an idea what's the problem here? Thanks, Ed |

Nothing ed. BTW, I noticed couple of messages with the same problem. No
real answer. I believe that there is some issue with sql server 2000 installation (after uninstall of the same) and windows xp professional...
