Hello,
We would like any comments on the following configuration. SQL Server 2005 Standard on main DB Server - Holds many databases and needs to support only a few users directly (5 to 10). Often runs intensive data operations. SQL Server 2005 Workgroup with 2 processer license - Will receive subset of main DB's data via replication and will be available for front-end website. This machine is slightly newer and slightly faster then main SQL Server. Can anyone tell us if there is any issue with replication between the two different versions or if anyone has any pertainent comments on this setup with these versions of SQL Server 2005. We have a limited budget and have found that this scenario has worked well instead of having webserver query the main DB server for its data. Thanks in advance. |

This is a good setup, as long as you are ok with the 3GB memory limitation of Workgroup Edition. Regards, lucm |
