I am trying to install SQL Server 2000 Enterprise 32-bit on a server running
Windows Server 2003 x64. I understand that I must apply sp4 right after the install but I can't get that far. I get a warning saying "SQL Server 2000 sp3 and below is not supported by this version of Windows. Please apply sp4 after installation of SQL Server 2000." I understand that so I clicked "Continue". Then I get a "Setup Initialization Error" saying: Setup is unable to find a hard disk location to store temporary files. Make at least 898KB free disk space available and then try running Setup again. Error 101. There is at least 25Gb free on every disk drive on the system so I don't understand this error. Thanks for your . |

This is not a SQL Server specific error. It is an install sheild error most
likely... does your server have a C:\Temp Folder? does your server have a C:\Windows\Temp Folder? Please Add those two if needed and try again. -- /* Warren Brunk - MCITP - SQL 2005, MCDBA www.techintsolutions.com */ "David Jones" <David Jones@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:62CA033A-18D6-41ED-90F8-74B3F3B0D7E3@microsoft.com... >I am trying to install SQL Server 2000 Enterprise 32-bit on a server >running > Windows Server 2003 x64. Thanks.
It must be some kind of permission issue since I was able to get it to install using a different account. The account that doesn't work is in the server Administrators group while the account that works is a domain admin account. That gives me somewhere to look to figure out the issue.
