Everytime I starts Management Studio the password box is empty even I ticked
the 'Remember Password' box.
Any idea why it did not get remembered?

If you have a registered server, right-click that and hit properties, and
check "save password" there. You shouldn't be prompted again for that
registered server, but it is a bug I reported against SSMS 2008 a while back
(and hasn't been fixed), so probably existed in 2005 tools in a similar way:
