Hi ,
I turned on AWE and set a maximum to 28GB , but when I perform a select statement , and found out the memory usage is extermely low I tried to observe a AWE usage base on query below , it show 0. SELECT SUM(awe_allocated_kb) / 1024 as [AWE allocated, Mb] FROM sys.dm_os_memory_clerks Anything's goes wrong with window or sql server 2005 ? I am using windows 2003 enterprise and sql server 2005 enterprise edition. Thanks , |

Maybe your query did not require a lot of memory? Also remember that you
are dividing integers, so you will get 0 if the numerator is < the denominator. See here for more information about validating AWE memory. Task manager is NOT a good way, IMHO. http://sqlblog.com/blogs/kevin_kline...rver-memory-tr acking-with-windows-task-manager.aspx On 8/30/08 3:13 PM, in article B326CC4B-A4D1-4E5A-869C-051924DF5DC1@microsoft.com, "Travis" <Travis@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote: > Hi , > > I turned on AWE and set a maximum to 28GB , but when I perform a select > statement , and found out the memory usage is extermely low > > I tried to observe a AWE usage base on query below , it show 0. > SELECT > SUM(awe_allocated_kb) / 1024 as [AWE allocated, Mb] > FROM sys.dm_os_memory_clerks > > Anything's goes wrong with window or sql server 2005 ? > > I am using windows 2003 enterprise and sql server 2005 enterprise edition. > > Thanks , |
