I am running SQL Server 8.00.2039 SP4 on Win 2003 SP2 and want to monitor my
SQL Server by setting up couple of SQL related performance alerts, so that I
know how SQL server is doing .Is there a way I can setup query threshold (how
many queries are being processed at a given time) and whenever it exceeds the
certain window I would be alerted. OR is there any other important counter I
should be watching instead to keep my server healthy and up. Does this
feature include in SQL 8.0 ? Or is there any other third part utility I
should be using to accomplish this task? Any suggestion please?

There is no SQL 8.0 , you are talking about SQL Server 2000 (SP4), set up
Profiler and then filter on specific period of time
