Hi There:
I'm having to uninstall and reinstall SQL 2005 Standard Edition, as I was unable to successfully move the system ldf files like I wanted after installing the first time. I'm gonna path these guys during the initial install and hope for the best. When clicking the "Advanced" button during the install, how do you tell SQL to place the mdf's here and the ldf's there? No, sir. It's a different question. My question is how do you path the logs
of the system databases DURING THE INSTALL--not afterward! "Maninder" wrote: > I think you already have a post about moving the the system Files, if > i am right.. about resourcedatabase. so this is a double post. > |

Everything you need to know about installation paths: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l.../ms143547.aspx For options that can't be configured through the pointy-clicky install: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms144259.aspx |

The option is hidden in the install in the Database section..
you have to drill down (expand) the Data Portion in the install to specify the Location. Question: you can move the Files even after the install.. Good links by Tracy... |
