We're going to be upgrading our in place SQL 2000 server to 2005 and I was
wondering if anyone could post up any gotchas or things to look out for? Thanks!! |

Download the 2005 Upgrade Advisor and run it against your SQL 2000 server to
report on issues you will face. And read the associated document, too. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en We found it very ful and covered pretty much everything that we needed to deal with. OverSeer,
Well, sure. Nothing is ever perfect. One big thing is to update statistics after the upgrade. And it is possible that some statements will run slower due to optimizer changes and, if so, examine them for improvements. On the whole, though, it all runs measurably faster. Thanks a ton for the fast response Russell. We'll keep an eye on things!
