Hi,
I've read that normally I should be able to use views and named query's in SQL Server 2005 Report Builder. The problem is: when I build the model, I don't see any Views in my database, and I don't have a clue how to add named query's. When searching for it on google I found quit a lot of times that I should be able to do it, but never WHERE! Could somebody explain me with chich tool, and which steps to follow to use these? Thanks a lot in advance, Pieter PS: I'm using SQL Server Enterprise Edition 2005 with Service Pack 2 and Reporting Services installed. |

I have the same question. Anyone out there know how to do this? Also, does
anyone know if the Report Builder will begin allowing the use of synonyms instead of either tables or views? Thanks. I found it in the mean time. You have to start Visual Studio 2005 or SQL
Server Business Intelligence Development Studio. Than you create a new project: in the group "Business Intelligence Projects' and there you choose "Report Model Project"... Took a while to figure this out :-) Than you have 3 directory's in this project: - Data Sources - Data Source View - Report Models You right click on each 3 of them in this order, and add every time the corresponding item. That's it! :-) |
