Downgrade and Profiles

Hi

I have to downgrade a Windows 2000 computer joined to a 2000 server
domain to an NT Domain, same login name, and a I do not want to copy
every document, configuration and desktop items to another profile, so,
is there any way i can switch (login) from DOMAIN1 to DOMAIN2 without
loosing the profile?

Because i know that same login name is treated differently at OS level
with user.DOMAIN1 and user.domain2.

If the domains are trusting you should be able to choose
domain 2 in the drop down list for domains and the
domain 2 account / profile.

Log on as local Administrator.

Rename the user's original profile folder.
Remove any other profile-folders which have resulted from attempts to log-on
to domain 2.
Join the computer to domain 2, and log on as the user.
Log off, and back on as local Admin.
Check that this has created a correctly-named profile folder.
If so delete it, and rename the original back in its place.
Log on as user.
