Hello All!
I am quite a newbie at this whole server bit.. So hope someone can me out there. We had our website hosted by our ISP providers, but now we want to move this in house. I was told that i had to do port forwarding on our router... and i think i have done that, but i don't know how to test it. Do i need to forward port 80, but i am not sure i have put the right IP address. Does this address have to be the IP address on the webserver? The one you get by typing IP config on the server? Also... right now when i type http:// and the servers IP address, from another computer within the network, i get a page saying this website is under construction. How do i change that? Where do all our webfiles need to reside on the server. I tried putting an index.html page in the C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\ but can't see that file from the browser. Am i doing this right? Our server is running on Windows 2000 Advanced Server. and My machine is XP. Thanks for hearing me out. Cheers, Munira |

Am i doing this right? You have likely put the files in the right place, the default document is likely incorrect. Using the Internet Services Manager, right click on the Default website, choose properties, select the Documents tab, add index.html to the list and move it to the top. -- Best regards, Kevin D.
