I am about to move my native server 2003 standard edition SP2, single domain
office to a new physical location. Our internet provider will be different in the new location. What will I need to change on my DNS servers internal to my office to reflect this change? Is there a DNS checklist anyone can offer to my move go smoothly? Thank you for any !! |

Hello redrobit,
For the DNS server you have only to check your Forwarders tab in the DNS management console. There you should change to the new ISP's DNS server. Rest of the configuration you have to check on the router to the internet itself. Which record is that exactly? My www host A record remains correct because
my web site is hosted and not internal. Everything else is NAT translated at the firewall and router. Hello redrobit,
Internally anything will be the same, because you only have a new WAN connection and a new ISP. Or did you also change the provider from your web site? Unless the internal LAN IPs change, the only thing you might need to change is the Forwarder on the Forwarders tab. Forwarders are totally optional anyway. -- Best regards, Kevin D.
