Hi Group. I need change the serial number. My DNS Server transfers zones to
25 server in different countries (only in this way). For one specific zone
this number is 564565489 and I want to use the format aaaammddnn. The used
number is greater then the new format. How i could change maintaining the
zone transfer to all servers. Maybe i must change the serial to each
server..well I don't know

You can use the RFC format which for today would be 2008040300, every day
that goes by adds at least 100 version numbers, every month 10 thousand,
every year 1 million, that should cover you. It won't maintain the year
month and day every day through the month, but when it becomes necessary to
manually increment it for a major zone update, you should be able to make
sure the new zone transfers.
