Hello
Our DNS setup is corrupt and our exchange server is throwing errors(though mail is flowing). I need your in setting up DNS from scratch (i mean adding and removing DNS role and then setting up zones) in this scenario - Both the servers are connected to net and have public IP. Server1(Active Directory) Server2(Exchange Server) LAN1 PUBLIC IP(RRAS FIREWALL, HOLES 53,1723) LAN1 PUBLIC IP(ICF FIREWALL - HOLES 80,443) LAN2 10.0.0.1 NO FIREWALL LAN2 10.0.0.2 NO FIREWALL Now, if I setup DNS on server 1 and enable one zone(abcd.com - which is authoritive) - It should answer as follows - If the request is from internet, it should give out public IP. If the request is from 10.xxx - it should give out 10.xx reply. Now my problem is, if I enable dynamic dns registration, the dns query on internet, replies both 10.xxx and the public IP. This corrupts the caches on public dns servers(as they reply back 10.xxx sometimes) How do i implement the above scenario - that any query on public IP, the Dns should respond back only public IPs and on 10.x.x. net, only 10.xx IPs. Also, server 2 (exchange server) is hosting our website. |
