All,
We have our company website hosted by a provider. They made changes to the ip address of the site, which I updated on our external DNS hosting provider. When i go to dnstuff.com and do a A record lookup of www.mycompany.com it resolves to the correct IP. BUT, in my internal network, for some reason, it keeps resolving to the older IP address. Not sure what I need to do to refresh the DNS records. Any ideas? Thanks? |

DNSStuff does not cache those lookups, so the change is immediate, but it does report the TTL of the record. The old record is likely cached in your local DNS, or its forwarder, and won't be updated until the remaining TTL has expired. I have seen many public DNS hosting providers that use TTLs of up to two days. -- Best regards, Kevin D.
