we have a domain where we have 2 dc's and in the past had a backup dc called
xyzbackup. we dcpromoed xyzbackup out of the domain, when we run dcdiag
/test:dns we got a delegation test : missing glue A record missing for
xyzbackup, even though there is no mention of xyzbackup in the dns either a
or ns records. So created an a record and the glue error has gone away but
now e get the following delegation error
Error: DNS server xyzbackup.xyz.local, IP:x.y.z.a [Broken delegated domain
_msdcs.xyz.local.]
have not been able to find any mention of this on the web only from the
dcdiag man page. Have not also been able to find out how to delete this
delegation.

In the xyz.local forward lookup zone, in the left hand pane, locate and
select the delegation named _msdcs, in the right hand pane, right mouse
click and choose properties, then remove the bad NS record.

Which DC are you running this dcdiag against or from?

The DNS server referred to is not listed as authoritative for ktl.local and
should not be used for DNS in TCP/IP Properties.
