We have a Win 2003 server with entries in the DNS forwarder address list.
Our pcs use DHCP with the option set to obtain DNS from the server. This suddenly doesn't work. If I hard code the primary dns address into my pc, no problem. If I set it back to try to obtain the same address from the server, it doesn't find it. If I try to ping the dns name, it returns an outside address and not the inside one. Thanks in advance for any . |

Check your DHCP option 006 has only the internal DNS server address and that your DNS suffix search list has the internal domain name only in it. You may also need to check the values in your GPO, here: Computer Configuration -Administrative templates -Network -DNS Client -- Best regards, Kevin D. It ended up that I had to put in the ips to the outside boxes as static
addresses. Not sure why...but now that worked. Thanks. "Kevin D. Goodknecht Sr. [MVP]" wrote: > Lois Healan wrote: > > We have a Win 2003 server with entries in the DNS forwarder address > > list.
