Hi All,
Am having some dificulty with my DNS server which is installed on Windows 2003 Server. I have ran the netdiag tool and, i get error messages... The DNS entries for this DC are not registered correctly on DNS server 0.0.0.0 Cannot find a primary authoritative DNS serever for the name ......... The name .....com may not be registered in DNS. Please could someone let me know how i can register the Windows 2003 server so that it is part of the DNS server on the machine. Any information would be greatly received. Kind Regards. -- Flinty |

Hello Peter,
If i understand you right, you have setup one DC. Did you install DNS during the promotion process, before or later? Or did you only use the DNS server with the second IP you use? Please write also some more details about your configuration, how many and which kind of server and which service they provide (DNS, DHCP etc.) Best regards myweb Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. > Hi Myweb, > > Thanks for replying. > > This is the ipconfig /all from the PDC which is windows 2003. Hi Myweb,
When i built the PDC i built it as a Windows 2003 server as the first root PDC in the forest. I then installed DHCP, DNS, AD and, Exchange Server. As part of my home network i also have 2 other Windows 2003 servers DC's which host DNS and, DHCP on both. The first domain PDC is configured as flinty.com the second as contoso.com. The domains can be pinged from each other but can't ping the FQDN from either domain. Hence the problem with DNS. If you need anymore information please let me know. Kind Regards -- Flinty "myweb" wrote: > Hello Peter, > > If i understand you right, you have setup one DC. Did you install DNS during > the promotion process, before or later?
