Hi all -
Here's a problem I haven't seen addressed: I just installed Win2000 server in my office. Installatiion went normally. I set up the server's nic dns setting to point to it's own ip (192.168.1.1), verified the dns settings' forward and reverse dns entries. In almost all respects, the server seems happy. However, when I log in to the server after a restart, it takes a REALLY long time to get the desktop. for almost 3 minutes I get a blank screen with only the cursor, and the hard drive light is going like crazy. So the question is, what's going on? I support 4 clients' Win2000 server systems, and none of them exhibit this behaviour. Any would be appriciated! |

none in the system log, but three in the app log: Event 2064: All the
remote DS servers in use are not responding. All three are related to MS Exchange. Kevin D. In news:1162618586.431430.284260@h48g2000cwc.googlegr oups.com,
JeffW <snowskier1la@yahoo.com> stated, which I commented on below: > none in the system log, but three in the app log: Event 2064: All the > remote DS servers in use are not responding. If you can supply the info Kevin requested, that will give us a great headstart in diagnosing this.
