Par défaut Browsing Web Pages

Hello,

I have some troubles to browse some web pages into my LAN, but when I'm
outside company's network I can see these web pages:

www.sesolibre.com and www.llagunao.com

When I resolve this sites throught nslookup, I have these information:

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: llaguno.com
Address: 67.19.96.82

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: sesolibre.com
Address: 67.19.96.82

It looks like everything is OK, but I can see them, Somebody what the
problem is in my dns servers?

Hoping to get any innformation from you,

Thanks

Hi
If you can resolve from outside (public) network, but you can't from
internal, you should check your internal configurations and Dns servers, run
nslookup from internal network and check if the server is reolving it
correctly or if you have any fw that might be bloking the request.

I hope that the information above s you

From DNS point of view everything seems ok, I tested and returned these
IP(s). If you can't access to the web site from internal network you must
have something that is preventing that.
Using nslookup from the clients do you get the same results?

Yes, using nslookup from the clients I get the same results. I can resolve
the name. But browsing I have next warning:

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage
Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.

What you can try:
Check your Internet connection. Try visiting another website to make
sure you are connected.

Retype the address.

So, I really don't know what the problem is. Another recommendation.

- If I understand you right this behavior only happens when the client tries
that specific link correct, all other links work?

- If you don't have any restrictions whatsoever, go to the DNS server and
client and from cmd reset all:
ipconfig /flushdns
arp -d
nbtstat -R
dnscmd /clearcache
ipconfig /registerdns

restart dns service and try again.

Where are these two sites host?
What I'm asking is do you host these sites on your LAN?

If you are hosting the site on your local LAN, you will likely need to
create records in your internal DNS that give the LAN IP address for the
server they reside on.

As for this site: www.llagunao.com, I'm getting NXDOMAIN from the gTLD
servers

Hello Kevin,

These web sites are hosting outsite, the owner of those web pages tell us
that he have had troubles to receive our emails, so I decide to try to
resolve his DNS into my network and I found we are having problems to see his
web pages.

When I saw that I could resolve his DNS into the internal network, I
supposed he had troubles with the web sites, but testing the same outside my
network, I can see that I can get access to those web pages: www.llaguno.com
and www.sesolibre.com, so I really don't understand why I have troubles to
see them into the internal network. There are not restrictions to see web
pages.

Hoping any another idea to resolve this problem.

Thanks,

Let me try the obvious, did you try to ping or tracert the site?

If it's pingable try this command:
ping -f www.llaguno.com -l 1472

yep sometimes hosting the webservers internally can lead to loops when
resolution isn't properly configured.

Something wrong? I try the same outside the internal network, and I can ping
those domains.

I'm not sure what to think about the tracert, this site is pingable. Were
you able to do a straight ping to the site or was it ping with 1472 byte
packets the one that didn't return. Did it timeout or did you get packet
needs to be fragmented but DF set?

If it timed out reduce the 1472 until it is returned, that would be you MTU,
find the problem interface between you and the site, or reduce the MTU on
the interface on your machine to that number plus 28. Then try to access the
site.

You're missing the last trace
Should be something like:
16 168 ms 169 ms 171 ms 52.60.1343.static.theplanet.com [67.19.96.82]
--------------------------------------------
MTU
- Very good point from Master Kevin
- The MTU can be an Issue:
Test your MTU from the problem server by pinging the gateway of your router:
ping -f <router gateway IP> -l 1472
You will get one of three responses;
the ping will return, "Packet needs to be fragmented but DF set." or it will
timeout.
If the ping timeout, that means a downstream router has a mismatched MTU,
and is the probable reason for your connectivity issue. Incrementally reduce
the 1472 until the ping returns.
If you get the packet needs to be fragmented but DF set, at a low number of
less than 1400, see if you can increase the MTU without a timeout. Ideally
you would really like a number as close to 1500 as you can get.Carefull MTU
to a much too low of a number and it would affect your network performance.
Check the MTU max size on your router.
Also check:

Actually Jorge, there are three responses, the third reponse could and
should be a return of the pinged address.

I had an MTU issue a few years back, before I ever even new what an MTU was,
it took me a while to figure it out. He needs to start at his own machine,
ping it with a 1472 byte packet, then ping his machine's gateway (router)
address with a 1472 byte packet, then ping the next gateway with 1472 byte
packet, if he pings a router that returns a time out or "Packet needs to be
fragmented but DF set.", then he should reduce the packet size to that
router until the ping returns.
Then find the issue with that router as to why it is using a reduced MTU
setting and either increase its MTU, or reduce the MTU on the interface on
his machine and every machine and interface that goes through the router.
MTU issues are common in a PPPoE DSL connection.

That's why I said that the last one was missing...

miss typo not 11472 but 1472 thnks for the correction.
By isolating the router is a good strategy and should be that way, I was
assuming that he only had 1 router as gateway because in his trace I can
only see one Private address range "192.168.25.1" and because he is only
having this problem from his local network, so I though that if there's any
problem, that problem should between his local network -> gateway.

Actually, that IP does not show up until hop 4:
4 21 ms 15 ms 27 ms 192.168.25.1

He doesn't even show 1, 2, and 3.

The point I was trying to make is that he needs to check the MTU of every
interface until it gets to the ISP. If the ISP has an MTU problem, he needs
to tell them.
