Hi everyone,
At our company, we have a Windows 2003 machine acting as a domain controller. It also hosts shares and printers. A few days ago, accessing the server by UNC started to work only intermittently (ex. \\servername). Now users who do manage to connect do not always see all the shares and printers, or if they do manage to connect to a printer or share they lose connectivity after a while. There is this error: Windows cannot find '\\servername'. Check the spelling and try again, or try searching for the item by clicking the Start button and then clicking Search. This shows up even when using the IP address of the server. Nslookup works and there is no problem pinging the machine. Doing an ipconfig /flushdns on the users' computers also does not seem to . What could be causing this? Thanks |

The server needed a reboot. Everything is working properly now.
It's strange how rebooting can fix so many problems. |
