I am replacing my Windows 200 server and installing a new Server 2003 one.

Do I need to be doing some sort of migration of the DNS ??

If you are going to migrate (upgrade from 2k to 2k3) you will not need
to do anything. if you havent done so already just make the dns zones
AD Integrated are you should be all set.

yes I will wantto have this new Server 2003 take over for the retiring
server 2000 box...but want to migrate all the necessary domain related stuff
from the old one to the new one

Creating a Windows Server 2003 domain controller in a Windows 2000 domain or
forest: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/278875

If your zones are stored in Active Directory (AD Integrated) the zones will
be replicated any new DC in the domain that have DNS installed. Before you
attempt DCPromo, make sure the new machine uses the existing DC for DNS
only. After it is promoted and the zones have replicated you may change the
DC to point to itself for DNS. If your plans are to remove the old DC, you
must use DCPromo to remove AD from it, do not just turn it off and take it
away or you will have to perform a metadata cleanup to remove it from Active
Directory.
