I've got a SuSE 9.0 box which will have a very small amount of users on
it. I'm trying to setup Postfix and Courier to send and receive mail for these system users. I think I have everything working expect when Thunderbird trys to grab POP mail off of the server, I keep getting asked for a password. I've double checked passwords several times yet I can't get passed this auth. What am I missing? What steps should I follow to setup system users to receive email? Thanks, MePH |

It's the configs for the particular POP3 server software you are running. -- Greg |

Correct, which in this case is courier. What I don't understand is
how/where to tell courier to use system users to auth passwords against. Thanks, MePH |

Although you might get lucky and accidently find someone here who is familiar with it. Have you seen the web site http://www.courier-mta.org ? Lot's of good info there. This page at least mentions authpw and /etc/passwd: http://www.courier-mta.org/?authlib.html -- Greg |
