Hello
I am using a test server from a dynamic IP. I am testing a CMS website and I have an "admin" and a "user" both with different "real" email addresses. I have lots of email addresses I can use for this purpose, but because the MX records don't point to my server, I am getting rejections. The only email I can send to (which I can access) is the email my ISP gave me: Feb 28 20:25:37 localhost postfix/smtp[12203]: EFD622CF8F7: to=<honeyant@ozemail.com.au>, relay=filter.iinet.net.au[203.0.178.192], delay=2, status=sent (250 ok: Message 167078551 accepted) None of my web hosting account emails work. This is unfortunate of course, because I can created unlimited addresses. Example log below: Feb 28 19:48:01 localhost postfix/smtp[12071]: 47CDC2CF8F7: to=<a@hobbs.id.au>, relay=mail.hobbs.id.au[205.234.148.160], delay=3, status=bounced (host mail.hobbs.id.au[205.234.148.160] said: 550-Verification failed for <apache@localhost.localdomain> 550-unrouteable mail domain "localhost.localdomain" 550 Sender verify failed (in reply to RCPT TO command)) My final option is the email address I got with my mobile phone provider. This seems to work (as per the log), but it must be getting blocked in a similar way to the above (??): Feb 28 20:25:36 localhost postfix/smtp[12201]: BF56B2CF8F6: to=<urbits@three.com.au>, relay=smtpin2.three.com.au[202.124.68.52], delay=1, status=sent (250 ok 1141119399 qp 16981) So, unless I'm way off track, this must be a typical requirement. Does anyone have a suggestion about how I might configure either my email, or my MX records to make these other servers accept my test emails? Cheers Simon |

O M G. Who's a freakin idiot.
I just set up some email accounts like "user@test.domain.com" and I'm reading them from within the shell. Wow, that solution must be so obvious to *nix natives. Maybe it's about time I installed linux over my XP and got a clue ;-) |
