I'm reading flash cs3 professional bible and I'm trying to apply the paint
selection mode to the figure on page111. The book says, "The base image is a solid white triangle with a black outline. The boat outline is drawn with the pencil tool in dark gray on top of the rectangle." After I drew the rectangle with the rectangle primitive tool(black stroke color/white fill color), I attempted to draw the sail boat on top of the rectangle but the sail boat does show on top of the rectangle. However, the sail boat is visible when I select the white rectangle and move it else where. Can anybody tell me what I'm doing wrong, and how to use the 'paint selection' mode once I've corrected the first issue. Thanks in advance -nori6ga |

draw the two items on different layers. once a shape is drawn, with it selected, look in the properties panel, you can change the stroke or fill there.

Thanks for your time cheech. The fill part was the key to my problem. I tried
drawing the items a couple of different ways and I found out that it wasn't necessary to draw them on two different layers. However it was necessary to apply fills to each part of the drawing. Thanks again cheech! |
