Frame rate for web?

I'm wondering what is the accepted frame rate for web delivery. The default 12 fps seems too slow.
Any suggestions?

I've seen 30 used frequently and it does provide more fluid animation.

We use 27fps as a standard.

We use 15 fps for character animation. Higher rates than that tend to slow down perfromance. It's also half (approximately) the NTSC TV frame rate of 29.97, so it's easy to re-output for video/DVD.
